Wynwood

We made a very quick trip to Wynwood this weekend.  It was a beautiful day full of great discoveries! It's amazing what parking in a different spot will do for a new found perspective and finding some art work that you've been searching for!
With all the excitement of my new magenta colored hair, I decided to share some of my favorite snap shots sharing the same hue.  And if you want to see how awesome my hair is now, look here and here!

A Peak Inside: The Boy's Creative Space

A quick peak inside the boys creative space.
He loves all kinds of mediums.
My new Tumbleweeds Sunglasses case
has become the new home for his marbles.

My Great Grandmothers
handmade kitchen utensil holder
now houses his collection of pencils...
which he loves to sharpen...
on both ends.

Wynwood Part 1

We went to one of our favorite spots yesterday. The Wynwood Arts District in Miami is a street art lovers playground.  I always find myself with tons of pictures on my phone of some of the amazing masterpieces, but this time I bucked up and brought my real camera.  So instead of bombarding you with them all right now, I am going to break it up into a few blog posts. Enjoy!

i want that art.

i am so proud to feature Brandon McClean as the artist responsible for the first post in this new column. Brandon has been a long time friend of me and the hubs, and on top of that quite the accomplished homegrown artist.

this piece is called 'Everything Good Dies Here, Even The Stars' and is 36"x28" (and would look amazing in my house).

Brandon also writes a great blog called My Hungry Years that is full of beautiful and inspiring images mixed with brandon's art work.
