wardrobe re-fashion
i can't believe i finally sat down and finished this necklace. for years it's been sitting in my jewelry box. i've been afraid to wear it because it's looked like it's been on the verge of breaking and sending 500+ puka shells every where. i am not really sure why i didn't take a before picture of the necklace, but you can use your imagination. i re-strung all the shells and then added the chain in the back to lengthen the necklace. i think my great grandmother would be proud.

dark chocolate elvis cupcakes
these cupcakes are super rich and yummy. i was inspired by a recipe found here, i tweaked it just a bit.
cupcake ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1 cup mashed banana (about 2.5 bananas)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
directions:
step 1:
preheat the oven to 350 degrees. grease a 12 cup muffin tin or line with paper liners. in a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. set aside.
step 2:
in a large bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients until combined – sugar, mashed banana, eggs, oil and vanilla. whisk the dry ingredients into the wet until combined. divide evenly among the muffin tins.
step 3:
bake the cupcakes for 22 – 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in comes out clean. allow to cool completely before frosting.
peanut butter frosting ingredients:
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 heaping cup peanut butter
4 cups powdered sugar
dash of milk
