30x30

Day 22 was devoted to one thing! A mantra for 30. Sweet and simple. Not a resolution or a goal...just a way to live!

"Do More! Waste Less!"

Project 52

I love your focus.

30x30

Yesterday's 30x30 was one that I was not looking forward to.
(yes-I am a day behind now... I figured it was going to happen eventually)
The hubs loves scary movies...like really loves them.
Me on the other hand...terrified.

But, knowing how much it meant to him I wanted to really plan a scary movie date.
One where I didn't try to immediately fall asleep on the sofa.  That's my normal defense against scary movies.  Not this time. This time I would "watch" the entire movie.
I mean, I am almost 30...time to grow up and face my fears.

To ease my pain the hubs set up a cozy little floor fort with popcorn and all.
We snuggled on with our hearts racing, his with excitement, mine with fright.
As the opening credits started to role I kinda thought for a half a second that I might enjoy this movie.
The soundtrack was starting off awesome and the cinematography was very cool.
Well, I made it about 10 second in before my face was buried in my hands and I was trying desperately not to hear the screams and shrieks booming from the surround sound.

I made it through the entire movie.
Most of my time was spent hiding from the gore.
And the hubs rewarded me when it was all over with a
high school style make out session.

Moral of the story:
I hate scary movies.
But I love making that man of mine happy....
and I love making out. haha

30x30

While today's 30x30 wasn't a complete failure, it has been a giant pain in my ass!
I have been lusting over these graphic sweaters that are popping up all over the place.
And then I saw this DIY on Curbly
Love that site!

So today I wanted to make a cross stitch heart long sleeve shirt.
While I started this little project with great intention,
I quickly realized that I didn't have the correct size needle.
Then later on in the day ran out of thread.

So another day, you will see it done.

Need to catch up on the past 6 days? Here you go.

30x30

I was so excited about today's 30X30!
Today the boy and I were to visit a local thrift store that we have never been to.
When making this list I knew exactly which establishment I wanted to visit!

I have been eye balling this store front for a few weeks, and could no longer
use the excuse of not knowing where to park.
For those who need to know....
parking is around back.

Entering a store through the back door always feels special to me.
It's as if you know some tiny secret.
As we walked up onto Atomic Living's back porch,
I knew that we had stumbled upon a real eclectic gem.

We opened the door to this fantastic site, and my heart started to pitter patter.
Then we heard Gooch's sweet voice from around the corner inviting us in.

This place is like a treasure trove full of goodies.
Gooch, the owner of Atomic Living and one of the coolest people I have met in a while, quickly took a liking to the boy allowing me to hunt for finds!
I found myself lost in a sea of vintage bathing suits.
When I poked my head around the corner to make sure that my child was behaving himself and being respectful, I was shocked and delighted to find that
he and Gooch were submerged in a heated game of Operation.
This one tiny detail alone (among many others) has gained her a customer for life.

This store is a perfect combination of vintage, kitch, PBR towers and a whole lot of humor.

Any place that has a feature wall with a bald mannequin wearing a gas mask and a dear head smoking a cigarette has my name written all over it! If you are in the area, you must,
I repeat must stop at Atomic Living!

You can find Gooch and Atomic Living at
619 N. Dixie Hwy
Lake Worth, FL 33460

Want to see what I bought?
You will have to stay tuned for my Thrifty Finds post later in the week.
